Was quite sure Marcuss would select Prior that round, so I picked him too, half as a block and half for myself, but in the end I picked him up. Couldn't be happier with my batting lineup now
Jager's XI 1. Jack Hobbs 2. Graeme Smith* 3. Rahul Dravid 4. Stan McCabe 5. Dudley Nourse 6. - 7. Matt Prior † 8. Mike Procter 9. - 10. Shane Bond 11. Dale Steyn

Happy to get Clarke there. Felt I needed one more solid consistent batsman in my XI. Also continues the theme of excellent fielders in my XI, Clarke joining Chappell, Lara, Miller and Woolley as outstanding fieldsmen
Abbott's XI 1. Sunil Gavaskar 2. 3. Ian Chappell (c) 4. Brian Lara 5. Keith Miller (vc) 6. Michael Clarke 7. Frank Woolley 8. Kapil Dev 9. 10. John Snow 11. Derek Underwood |

01. Bob Simpson
02. Bill Lawry 03. Charles Macartney 04. 05. Bill Ponsford 06. 07. John Waite 08. Ray Lindwall 09. Bill Johnston 10. Sydney Barnes 11. Neil Adcock Interesting bowling line-up. The team effectively has no less than 9 bowlers if you think about it; Right-Arm Fast = 2 Left-Arm Fast-Medium = 1 Left-Arm Orthodox Spin = 2 Right-Arm Medium (Swing) = 1 Right-Arm Off-Break = 1 Right-Arm Leg-Break = 2

Cheers, I think Procter was one of the greatest bowling talents of the 20th century, so he's a certain frontline bowler for me. His batting is almost an afterthought here. McCabe is my fifth, quite a nippy and enthusiastic medium pacer from what I've read, so I'll most likely go for a specialist batsman - I'd take Clive Rice if I could though

McCabe had a decent off-cutter if I remember rightly. Last edited by watson; 12-08-2012 at 09:59 PM. |

However, I changed my mind at the last minute and went for a different left-armer as I thought that Lindwall and Johnston were two 'Invincibles' that should be reunited again. Plus I like the idea of having two bowlers in my team that can bowl 'anything'. Barnes and Johnston. |
