What's a value draft?

I'm a fan of a chain draft, as well. Where your new pick must link to your previous pick (Jager can set the potential 'links' - be it era, country, etc.).
So there would be 12 links that you would have to use up during the course of the Draft?

That's not what I was thinking, really. I think that's too similar to the clause draft.

Pick One could be Garry Sobers.
Pick Two Curtly Ambrose via West Indian nationality.
Pick Three Fred Trueman via having a batting average within two runs of Ambrose.
Pick Four could be Ian Botham via English nationality.

For example.

I'd prefer a free, classic draft, though, personally.

It could go very silly. Pick Tubby Taylor because he's fat like Inzamam ul Haq.

Where do you draw the line exactly?

Jager would set the exact 'links' that could be made. I'd suggest a maximum of about seven.

!

Sounds like a classic, normal draft has good support so far. Unfortunately kyear, Bradman will never be available in a draft where the picks are ordered.

What about a simple clause like you need to pick at least one player from each test playing nation. Keeps it a bit more interesting tactically.

I also really liked the idea of having a limit on the amount of tests your team has played. Say 250 tests max for your entire team would be interesting...

I think chain draft would be fun. We did enjoy the Scorecard Draft so yeah something like that can be fun compared to our classic drafts.

All that chain draft talk did remind me of the Scorecard Draft as well.

I'm in favour of a classic draft ftr.

Classic draft rules
ATG test draft, players must have played at least one test match.
No Bradman.
There is a 12 hour selection zone before you are skipped. You still choose at any time, but the draft continues and you may miss out on players. 24 hours is allowed for double picks.
We will have twelve rounds. Your 12th pick does not have to be your 12th man.

Like the idea of a 'open play sandbox' Classic Draft. My brain needs a rest.
