**Official** South Africa in England 2012

It's still frustrating, there's just nothing in this pitch, how do you lose 20 wickets on it.?
Been unbelievable tbh, didn't deserve to but Bell and Prior should still be batting here.

It would show the rest up if these 2 can make them bat again.

I never quite understood Smith. When we're doing well with a certain bowler and the innings is nearing its end - he changes to bowlers that haven't been as successful. Can anyone understand this?

One thing to bear in mind though is Jimmy has had niggles this summer so may not be at his best at any stage of the series, Steyn should improve after this game as he looked rusty on day 1. Scarily so will big Morne who looked totally out of it.
Morkel's been pretty out of it for a while now. There were actually quite a few South African fans on this forum talking about the possibility of him being dropped for de Lange during his last series in New Zealand, so bad his form had got. He responded by taking 6fa in the second innings of the last Test on that tour (which was drawn despite his efforts) but aside from that he's been genuinely poor for some time.

Pretty standard in situations like this to try and get down-on-their-luck bowlers some confidence going into the next Test with a couple of cheapies.

****ing grubber, didn't get more than 6inch off.

Well done SA, bitch slapped us, worst possible start.

Need to come back hard at at them, at least we've had experience of doing that.

Congrats to SA. An innings victory. Almost total domination over the whole Test match.
Impressive stuff.

Well played SA. Comprehensive victory.

Ironic that the last wicket was about the first one on a day 5 pitch that you can blame on the pitch. England can have no complaints about this defeat, have to bounce back like never before and make tough choices about the players carrying injuries.

Disappointed to lose but hopefully the next test we'll play better. On a quicker pitch hopefully.

Kinda annoyed with the way some of our players batted in general this match specifically Pietersen although Broad and Swann didn't really digin enough.
