Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Arguable the greatest English playwright of my time, Pinter wrote this in 1980:-

I tend to think that cricket is the greatest thing that God ever created on earth - certainly greater than ***, although *** isn't too bad either.

I wouldn't seek to suggest that it has constantly troubled me since then, but I have from to time pondered whether or not I agree with him. Finally, 32 years on, I've come to the conclusion that, on balance, he's wrong.

But that won't stop me pondering. It will just change the emphasis ie do I now take the view I do only because I've realised that I am likely to be able to enjoy one for rather less time than the other, and that is the reason for my change of mind, or are there other factors at work?

............like perhaps I had better start taking my medication again ...........

Not sure if I am exhausted or stupid, but I can't figure out what you mean. Do you mean that your enjoyment in cricket is dwindling?

Apples and oranges, tbf - they're activities enjoyed in entirely different ways, but on a good day they can be combined - it all depends where you are in relation to the TV.

A few ideas there David, although I suspect the fruit you suggest is the wrong shape for at least one of the relevant activities
