How FLAWED is Warne's list of 100 greatest cricketers?

Apologies if this question has already been discussed in history.

But still....Waqar Younis at 31:-O, Donald at 36  and Steve Waugh at 26
These folks are once in generation batsmen/bowlers.

Some shocking inclusions are - Merv Hughes at 18, Graham Gooch at 14and Sangakkara at 23! And he's been very biased towards Victoria players.

He bowls a good leg-break, but certainly can't decide a list of great players.

it is a very subjective list and how good the players were from his perspective.

Can't see much fault in it if you see it from that perspective.

The book was pretty awful reading though. I ordered it from Amazon recently

He has mostly rated players on the basis of their performances against Australia.

As if performing against Australia is all what matters.

The normal awards that everyone else has
FWIW, Gooch was the only Englishman for a long time who had any idea how to deal with Warne.

Inzamam wasn't even on his list... that was shocking considering that he was one of the best from his era..at least the best representing pakistan.. others weren't as shocking..

Donald and Younis sucked against Australia (comparatively) and it was a personality clash between him and Waugh so can't say I am surprised. As you say, it is more a friends list than anything else.

Warne not rating Inzamam is hardly a shock. Mediocre record against Australia and Warne performed well against him.

Warne, like he always does, simply used this list to air agendas he held against certain players. Do not respect anything he says about other cricket people.

Ah yeah, forgot to put up the ban reason. Meh, GF announced it; the guy only made a couple of posts, he's not worth our time.
