Dan Hughes didn't have a great season in grade. He's not exactly banging the door down.

Ok if not Dan Hughes, then Cruikshank to open and Dawson at 3.
Think NSW squad will look like this : Dawson,Maddison,Cruikshank,Smith,Rohrer,Patterson, Henriques,Nevill,O'keefe,Doran,Bollinger,Hazelwood ,Tremain and Lalor. I think Triffitt will end up at WA. |

I think with that squad they will struggle. They have already lost Hughes, Katich, Jacques, Casson, Clark and Lee and cannot afford to lose anymore international players. Perhaps NSW should be looking to poach an opener from another state.

I am against recruiting players, unless they are class,Chris Rogers would be the only opener i would buy, best to wait the 1/2 years for one to emerge through the under 19's,heard Jake Doran is quite good dunno if he is an opener tho.We produce players pretty quickley.
I am not keen on us getting someone for the sake of it,we could get Wilf Robinson but he only averages low 30's. |

Wilf Robinson
![]() Agree though, Wes is a gun, very underrated. But we'll be right, we have a production line of talent. Dan Smith having a thinly veiled crack at the Prince on Twitter? It would be quite unbelievable if NSW did bring in an opener from another state considering the abundance of openers they had this time last year.
I suggest Dan Smith to open, but more realistically I'm sure NSW will unearth someone who will be close to Australian selection by Xmas. EDIT - didn't see Benchy's post until I hit send. I would say great minds, but Paszek. Last edited by NUFAN; 28-06-2012 at 08:05 AM. |

If you've just decided he's officially crap and aren't picking him then I can get behind that, but something tells me that's not it.

Harris was also a victim of not being able to buy a run last year. He is next to no chance in the Shield. I'm sure he'll get a game or two in the OD's and he's a gun T20 player.
1 Hughes 2 Klinger 3 Stray/Head 4 Ferguson 5 Cooper 6 Christian 7 Botha is potentially a very good top 7. |

Head's a way better player than tom stray, just wish they'd give him a chance to play half a season at 5/6 rather than throwing him to the wolves a bit early at number 3. only 18, and comfortably one of the dumbest guys i've met.
