Not sure re Magoffin but in the case of say Phil Jaques who I suspect has dual passports / citizenship, why is he prevented from being classified as a local player in both the Uk and Australia?

Magoffin has signed as Sussex's overseas player for the remainder of this season and next season.

Is this why Lee was not offered a contract by Cricket Australia?

Oooooooo, mistake I reckon. One feels the big thing that got him as many chances as he did was how many runs he scored on tough decks. Cue cries of FTB no matter how many runs he scores (and he will score plenty).

/* annual Redbacks pessimism alert
Dunno how much it'll affect the team's fortunes anyway. Last couple of years, getting good/solid starts hasn't been the biggest problem, the tail starting at 5 has been. */ EDIT: Maybe the selectors reckon that's solved with Christian and Cooper's form last year but how long will that last I wonder? All the result of a wise decision by CA to boot credibility of the game by cutting the number of contracts until S Smith wasn't offered one.
We need Hughes strike rate to push for results, at the very least we will lose with some panache. |

I distinctly remember reading in a thread somewhere, a bunch of you predicted this. NSW was brimming with POIs (I think that's the proper acronym) and some had to get squeezed out.
I'm just reading the article now, not sure what to think. |
