Accoding to the media its 15 contracts now not 20.
Gather most states will have 14 contracts+5 rookies.
Is that sourced from ONE article that said, to paraphrase, they MAY go down to as little as 15 contracts. Hardly confirmed, and IMO no way in hell CA will cut 10 contracts entirely, especially given there are a few short-form specialists..

Cowan
Warner
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
Pattinson
Siddle
Hilfenhaus
Lyon

Harris
Wade
Dussey
Lee
Christian
Doherty
Cummins
Forrest

That's 19 possible contracts already - no way they could go down to 15, unless they only contract players who play in 2 forms. 15 doesn't give them much breathing room - 18-20 is more likely IMO.

18 seems like a random number - it should be 20, but I think state contracts should be about 20 too. Do you think Haddin, will retain his contract - he may not, especially if Wade does a solid job in the Tests. I hope his daughter recovers btw, absolutely shattering news.

CA would probably like to only hand about 5 contracts a year...

But yeah it'll be somewhere between 15 and 25, and I'll back CA to get the better deal, so 18 could be the number.

I don't see Haddin getting a contract. I mean I never saw Haddin getting a contract for the 2012-13 season, even in August last year, let alone now that one of his kids has cancer and there's another kid about to pop out.

No, just no, please don't bring that stuff into the discussion. It really isn't relevant.

I might be being over-sensitive about Haddin's current family situation but it shouldn't be discussed in this context.

well if you guys don't feel comfortable talking/discussing about it i'm cool with it. I don't think he was getting an CA contract regardless is my point

Yeah point taken, but the rest of the stuff isn't relevant to his contract, and I'm pretty sure there are legalities in place to ensure it isn't relevant to ongoing or future employment, it's a topic that should be left alone, with the offer of our best wishes to him and his family.

with all respect to the sensitivities, I'm sure CA as his employer would at least consider the impact it would have on his role in the setup and whether or not he can complete the upcoming season. May not be explicitly stated but would surely form part of their thinking.

Forgot to post this when it happened.

Johan Botha is awesome, deal with it ****s.

Now if South Australia can get Nicky Boje down and get them to form a spin twin duo with Johan, I will support South Australia and hang out with Top Cat at Shield games.

According to connect.in.com Luke Pomersbach has settled into Queensland and is enjoying it, and is hoping for opportunities for Queensland and the IPL,and would not rule a move back to WA sometime in the future.
