Is this the second coming of Bangladesh?

They have managed to be competitive in 3 games straight against top teir teams winning 2 of them as well in a big tournament. That's a first for them. They have also provided a player good enough to be the #1 test all rounder and beat New Zealand 4-0 just about a year and a half ago.

So pretty good signs there but some would say that its about time some improvements came after a decade of having test status. Sri Lanka also shock of their minnow status about 20 years ago in the early 90's after a decade of being minnows of cricket. Can Bangladesh do the same?

OP didn't last long then, eh?

Yer Banglas have done this before in ODIs tho, haven't they? Knocked India out of the 2007 WC to the sound of much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the ICC accoutants dept.

This has been three consistent performances though. Even their loss to Pakistan was gutless but impressive at the same time

Big difference though if they win the final. Then it's really a "step up and notice" moment.

i think most people are wary of playing Banga in Banga nowadays, although there's still the odd horror performance, but yeah outside of Banga they still need a couple of seamers.
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

They have a few players around who are quite good and on their day can probably craft a win. They look like they're approaching some sort of stability as well (at least in limited over games).

The 4-0 drubbing was more of a Shakib show along with crappy performance by NZ rather than them "stepping up". However the difference in this series has been their collective effort with the bat even when challenging totals were posted by the opposition - and I sure do hope they maintain this level of consistency.

Always liked watching them play tbh.

Shakib has been the difference imo. Really good player and he's been in good form recently.

Might just be co-incidence, of course, but the upturn seems to happened after he was stripped of the captaincy too.

Will admit I've never seen Mushfiqur in action as skipper, but thought Shakib was sub-dire. He's definitely better off concentrating on what he's good at.
