Luke Ronchi to NZ
![]() WA has confirmed wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi will quit the Warriors and will head to New Zealand in an attempt to resurrect his international career. Rumours surfaced this afternoon that Ronchi had advised his teammates of his plans at training this morning. A spokesperson from the Warriors confirmed to PerthNow that the 30-year-old would walk away from the team and return to New Zealand, where he was born, to further his career. The spokesperson refused to expand on the issue, with the Warriors expected to release an official statement this afternoon. Ronchi, 30, has played 58 first-class matches and 86 one-dayers for WA. . I wonder which province he will select. He was born in Dannevirke (CD).
Auckland - Dropkins/B. Cachopa ND - McGlashan/Watling CD - van Wyk Wellington - Austin-Smellie Canterbury - Young/Latham Otago - McCullum/de Boorder Thoughts? |

He will play for Wellington. He's Australian.

If he thinks it will be a stroll in the park, he should think again. In terms of potential & competition for places, NZ cricket is looking more competitive than it has for some time. He'll need to displace Watling & van Wyk for starters.

A pecking order of:
McCullum Watling van Wyk de Boorder McGlashan .... .... .... .... Ronchi Dropkins Young ? I have moved Dropkins/Young to the end of the queue. Has anybody seen Latham's keeping? |
