So I guess England won't rule and dominate world cricket after all

Remember what was said in the wake of England's 3-1 win down under and their 4-0 win at home against India.

"England will be like Australia of the early 2000's" - Vaughan crowed
"England are a great side in the making" - Boycott huffed
"England are unstoppable" - our own GIMH (hello Sweetheart :D)
"Erm England are rightfully no.1 and destined for future greatness' - rasped the lovely Marc Robbins
"England are mighty" screamed GingerFurball

What happened to the hubris gents ?
One series where the ball turns slightly and London Bridge comes crashing down.

iirc Australia of the early 2000's suffered a pretty humiliating series loss against spin...............

Not trolling.

Reality is England were never going to be a great side.
They don't have great bowlers - the hallmark of the windies side of the 80's and Australia of the 2000's.

Throw in the fact that their batsmen can't play spin.....well how are they going to dominate world cricket ?

Obvious troll is obvious. Not like there isn't a whole front page of threads in which this "point" has already been made.

If you made a thread right after the 4-0 and said that England weren't going to be a great side, then I guess it would be alright if you gloated now. Dire thread.

When your thread premise is based upon Michael Vaughan's drivel, Boycott, and the unbiased observers that are Corrin and his orange cat, it's hard to take your assertion they are representative of the fanbase seriously...

I don't think anybody over here seriously believed that England would ever become an ATG team with this lot

No doubt that this series has shown up England's batsmen against spin (and on slow, low pitches in general given the ridiculous collapse to a very average spell from Umar Gul) but anyone who somehow uses the evidence of this series to criticise their bowling either hasn't actually watched it, has an agenda, is ridiculous biased or is trolling. Or, quite probably in this case, a mixture of all four.

EDIT: Sorry for posting post-lock. Starting typing that post, then got a phone call, got off the phone, finished it off, pressed post and yeah...
