Seriously, SA? Just bowl at the ****ing stumps and watch us get ourselves out. But if that ain't your thing...

edit: whoops, obviously a short-from-one-end-full-from-the-other tactic.

Nah, it's still a decent tactic. Both these guys are likely to flash at a wide one and get themselves out.

If McCullum actually properly middled a shot it'd tear a hole in time and space.

Maybe they've worked out that their attack lacks the penetration on these types of pitches so they are trying to bore the batsmen out.

Totally - remember Taylor in the first innings in Dunners?

Coming in at #3 he probably does have to score tons to earn respect. This SA attack is good but of the SA bowlers only de Lange bowls with venomous pace these days.

NZ could be setting up a really good situation here with SA having to bat last. Wonder if Smith misread the pitch! Interesting to note that when it's been overcast during the past couple of tests the ball hasn't done a lot, unlike in England, Australia or SA.

And look at that ugly shot by McCullum there.

If you don't give them anything to hit, these two are likely to do something silly.
