This is no good, was looking forward to this when on the way home.

When we likely to get any play?

When I said it isn't raining, it is. It's steady down again. Can't see play before 2pm. I'll have a guess at 2:45pm start time and see how I go

it keeps suggesting it will improve and then closes back in again. At this rate by the time it dries out enough to play they'd be off for bad light.

Frustrating. Looking out the window and it's raining again, rumours of a 1:30pm toss and 2pm start were doing the rounds but probably not now.

1.15 pm Still not raining at the University Oval, the South Africans are out on the ground warming up.

Looks like Marchant de Lange will be playing.

Don't know whether that is good or bad news given we struggle in equal measure against aggressive spin and aggressive pace

I'd think whoever they're playing de Lange would be a plus for South Africa. I'd quite happily pick Philander, de Lange, Steyn and leave Morne Morkel out. Morne Morkel in Test cricket tends to looks a lot more effective than he actually is. I guess if all four play it may well make it easier for the South African selectors to make the call.

So what don't we struggle against? Friendly left arm orthodox pies?

Well your batsmen would get plenty of practice against those in the nets.

I hate how they **** around for half an hour before they get the game started. It's not raining and it's not overly wet so do the toss right now and get on with it.

I predict Vettori will take at least a one wicket bag in this test.
