Whilst I have a vested interest, I'm one of those people that wants everyone who plays for NZ to do well. I see what you mean though, you see the talent. Good from you.

Oram can't hold a pen but he can hold a ball and bowl it? I don't know if I believe that.

And, to be fair to him, he did good job in the Zimbabwe series. Under pressure against the Saffies, though, I expect him to make a few outlandish calls. But he won't die wondering, which is good.

Damn. You got me. He just can't hold a pen well enough to write. Fact.

A shame, can't see us troubling SA without Ryder, Taylor, Oram & Brownlie

Don't agree about Ryder and Brownlie, Ryder has been playing like arse anyway and Brownlie is pretty unproven apart from a couple of decent games in Aus.

Ryder? Er the guy averages mid 30s with a SR north of 90 in ODI's saying nothing of his match winning innings against SA in the WC quarter final less than 12 mths ago.

In regards to Brownlie, you're right that he's unproven in the shorter form, but he's a proper batsman who will far more likely cope with the SA pace bowlers than de Grandhomme or Ellis will.

Can definitely see us getting dominated without our best ODI batsman. Guptill/Nicol and McCullum haven't done much against quality bowling attacks. Then there's the inexperience of Williamson and Latham.

I think NZ will win this game comfortably. Pitch favors NZ.

Mills just confirming my belief that he is only good (albeit superb) in overs 1-35 of ODIs.
