Criminal offence or misdemeanour - where is the line?

What do you think may happen If Warne/Waugh were caught today for the same offense ?

They would be banned, no doubt about it.

Am I being too cynical in thinking that one of the reasons that Warne and Waugh's antics were covered up by the ACB was because the two of them, Warne in particular, were key witnesses in their case against Salim Malik?

It is a complete farce that Asif and Aamir are sitting in jail cells whilst Malik, Azhar, Gibbs, Warne, Waugh, every drugs cheat in history etc walks free and, in some cases, earn a fortune "promoting" their sport

****ing Warne got done for taking money off a bookie, taking drugs and generally being a disgrace but could still afford to knock back a full-time commentary job because he was earning 9 million a year

If it wasnt so sad, it would be laughable

What's done is done Social. Warne, Azhar, Wasim etc got away with it and we can't do anything about it. But now that a precedence has been set there will be harsh consequences for anyone who takes part in it, including jail sentences.

That or legalise betting for the general public there. Then it can be regulated.

Evil Indian bookies obviously entrapped innocent cricketers to underperform and part with key information. It not like the cricketers did it for money, that would have been shocking.

Nah this is his regular behaviour tbh.

Apparently banning the Indian cricket team would stop the bookies interfering in Pakistan vs. England test matches
It would if the market betting on the match is Indian....

Duh

You said you wanted to ban the Indian cricket team. How would that have prevented no ball-gate?

Sets an example to the country which is currently the seat of corruption in world cricket.

Regulate it, sort it out, do something. Then let their team play again.

It won't happen of course. My god it would be funny if it did though.

So basically you're equating India not regulating gambling (which I agree with you that they should) to apartheid, and want the same action to be taken as against South Africa?

I mean equating as in action, not as in the level of seriousness obviously.

They're both government policies you want to result in the cricket team being banned.
