RIP Roy Tattersall

BoyBrumby

Englishman
The Lancashire great passes away at 89. From cricinfo.

Just 16 tests, but it's a fair guess he'd have played more had his career not co-incided with a certain Mr Laker's. 1369 first class wickets at a tick over 18 speaks of the man's class and consistency.

Fitting he lived to see his beloved Lancs land the CC after so many years. Vale.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
... and then there were three

only Tom Dickinson, Barry Howard and Peter Greenwood left now of those who played when we shared the title in 1950, although Howard and Dickinson were just peripheral figures - but all the main men have gone now - the skipper and England captain Nigel Howard, Barry's brother, was the first to go when I was getting ready to go to Uni, and over the years Washbrook, Place, Ikin, Berry, Hilton, Wharton and Statham, Test players all, have slipped away but at least Tatt saw us win it again

RIP
