    Great Brother Combinations.....

One thing I noticed looking at the Waugh Twins records today, they have nearly notched up 50 000 FC runs between them.

And it got me thinking, would this be the record for the most FC runs by brothers?

To be exact, between the three Waugh brothers (Dean being the other one, who only contributed 22 runs) they have scored 49 593 (at the time Steve was on 77 and Mark on 2 in the PC game).

The Chappell brothers notched up 48 264 runs so they just fall short.

Even more amazing is the fact Hobbs scored 60 000 on his own (but he did play over 800 FC matches to get there )

Not sure how many the Graces scored, but only LE would remember them!

Well M and S waugh are the best of the modern era... A and G Flower come close, but not that close.... I never knew Hobbs was quite that phenomenal!

    Other ones recently...

    Paul and Bryan Strang
    Andy and Guy Whittall
    John and Gavin Rennie
    Andy and Grant Flower

Thats all I can think of for the moment... they all happen to be from Zim!

    Runs for the Mohammad Brothers:

    Wazir 4930
    Hanif 17059
    Sadiq 24160
    Mushtaq 31091

Makes a grand total of... 77240

55251 between Sadiq and Mushtaq alone.

If that's not the record then I don't know what is.

Sorry to blow that bit of Aussie supremacy out the water

Four brothers who all played Test cricket?? :O That father must have been pretty into the sport...(or possibly president of the PCB)

Anyway, for me the Waughs are still the best. They were two, while there were four Mohammads.

I say congrats to their mother for producing the goods 4 times, perhaps when she gave birth she was holding a cricket bat in her hands or something?:P

    Try these combinations :

    WG Grace 54211
    EM Grace 10025 = 64236
    http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archiv...s/0/41/41.html

    John Langridge 34378
    James Langridge 31716 = 66094
    http://www.cricketarchive.com/Archiv...8411/8411.html

James played 8 tests, John played none !

    JT Tyldesley 37897
    Earnest Tyldesley 38874 = 76771

Btw, Michael Vaughan is the grandson of Tyldesleys' sister.

    Correct to some extent

Amir Bee, the mother of the Mohammads, was almost entirely responsible for making her children the cricketers that they became. She was also the national badmintion (or squash) champion of the undivided India in 1944.

    True.

2 English players who have not had much luck with England selections (one of them was one of the unluckiest batsmen never to get selected by England), Darren (Batsman) and Martin (Bowling All-Rounder) Bicknell.
