    Big Day for Wests

Great effort for the Western Suburbs club today with three players in the Test XI, namely Michael Clarke, Phillip Hughes and Mitchell Starc on debut. Not a bad showing considering the side doesn't even have more than two players from any state other than NSW. Ironically the two Victorians Siddle and Pattinson are also from the same club.

So a pretty rare occurrence. St George has probably achieved it in the past and maybe a few other clubs, but Wests aren't exactly known as one of the top clubs so very well done to the Magpies.

It isn't the first time Wests have achieved the feat though. In 77/78 we had Simpson, Toohey and Rixon play in the series against India in 5 tests and 3 tests in the West Indies.

    Prefer Penrith's contribution today.

    Stewart Rhodes - absent hurt.

Dandenong also provided the two opening bowlers. Decent attack at full strength, Siddle and the two Pattinsons.

vic_orthdox will learn from this imo - he'll never post a fact again and stick to spikey-benchmark00esque banter

Logically I'd support this club, but I don't.

    Still, a massive effort.

Can anyone come up with any other examples of a club providing three test players? Like I said Saints with all of the greats they've had over the years probably have, but I can't say for sure.
