Why doesnt Australia just play the New South Wales squad? I just dont understand why they play players from the other states. Just seems like a waste of time for mine.

Hmmm.

Watson
Hughes
Khawaja
Katich
Clarke (c)
Warner
Haddin (wk)
O'Keefe (Hauritz when fit)
Copeland
Cummins
Bollinger (Starc if Bollinger is unfit)

Hmmm, not too bad of a side ITBT. Would still lose to QLD though.

Good squad, but is missing Mussey.
Missing Harris too.

Hauritz became good at his craft playing for QLD, Watson likewise, Johnson hasn't been any good since he left QLD and Harris only became good when he went to QLD. I daresay that if we threw our naturally gifted players to QLD we'd end up producing an excellent side.

Wow the NSW squad is pretty good to be an international side on its own.

But no Ponting. Hussey and Marsh as well

Contradiction IMO. Harris's last season for SA showed a lot more promise than Hauritz's last season for Queensland. Hauritz left because he felt his game was stagnating in Queensland (after being dropped from the Shield side and all..) and wanted to learn from other spinners and play within a system that knew how to use them properly.

Fair point, though in interviews Harris has specifically said that in QLD he learned how to bowl to take wickets, which helped his game immensely.
