Current Test XI

I don't know if this exercise has been done before but let's give it a try.

Pick two test playing nations, from which one has to be the country that you support and the other can be any of the remaining test playing nations. Make up a current Test XI from your selected countries.

For me Pakistan and South Africa.

Smith
Amla
Younis
Kallis
Yousuf
Misbah (c)
De Villiers (wk)
Afridi/Ajmal
Gul
Steyn
Morkel

If Asif and Amir were playing, I would have them in for Morkel and Gul respectively.

Never in a million years would I have thought Brumby to admit this!!!!!!

Turbs had a thread about team merging quite recently, worth a look.

As I said in there, England & South Africa seem to compliment each other extremely well at the moment. Perhaps not coincidentally.

Smith
Cook
Trott
Kallis
KP/Bell
De Villiers
Prior
Swann
Steyn
Morkel
Anderson

England and Australia

Cook
Strauss
Trott
Pietersen
Bell
Hussey
Prior
Bresnan
Broad
Swann
Anderson

Good god, the 10-1 ratio would have been the same the other way round in the 90's and early 00's with probably Thorpe as the only player to get in the Aussie side. Shows how it can turn.

Jan you have 4 countries there if you include Sanga. Pick one country you support and any other Test nation.

This looks like a really good combination. Good blend of attacking and defensive batsmen,
bowling looks awesome aswell, Taylor,Edwards,Roach and Vettori along with the part timers Gayle, Ryder and Williamson.
I wonder why WI have never played Jerome Taylor, Edwards and Roach together in their test 11.

Because it would involve one/two of them coming out in a stretcher...
