2004 Australian ODI Rankings
(as of Australia vs. Zimbabwe 10th VB Series Match at the MCG, January 29th) Batting No.1: Adam Gilchrist - 576@115.20 No.2: Mathew Hayden - 368@61.33 No.3: Michael Bevan - 309@51.50 No.4: Ricky Ponting - 283@40.42 No.5: Michael Clarke - 256@36.57 No.6: Andrew Symonds - 225@37.50 No.7: Damien Martyn - 159@26.50 No.8: Ian Harvey - 81@16.20 No.9: Brad Haddin - 40@20.00 No.10: Andy Bichel - 32@16.00 No.11: Brett Lee - 21@10.50 No.12: Jason Gillespie - 17@17.00 No.13: Brad Hogg - 8@8.00 No.14: Simon Katich - 4@4.00 No.15: Brad Williams - 0@0.00 Bowling No.1: Brad Williams - 332@66.40 No.2: Andrew Symonds - 183@30.50 No.3: Jason Gillespie - 127@25.40 No.4: Brett Lee - 127@31.75 No.5: Ian Harvey - 101@25.25 No.6: Michael Clarke - 63@10.50 No.7: Brad Hogg - 42@21.00 No.8: Andy Bichel - 42@10.50 Well in a game that produced a no result due to rain, there were still some positives that came out of this game. Michael Bevan hit his second consecutive half century with a superb 56 off 56 balls. Though Damien Martyn looks to have regained some form with a good 42 off 40 balls. Bevan has gone up from No.6 to No.3 in the batting rankings and Brad Haddin has gone up from No.12 to No.9 in the batting rankings. The bowling rankings stay of course the same as Australia never bowled a ball to the Zimbabwean batsmen due to the rain. |

I disagree.
How can one who is clearly out of form be ranked number 1?

Martyn had his up and downs with form during the VB Series & the ODI Series against Sri Lanka and of course I have separate Test and ODI rankings. Martyn is No.1 in Test Batting Rankings (with a 42 point lead), though he is No.6 in ODI Batting Rankings (477 behind No.1, Adam Gilchrist). |
