Starting this instead of digging up the 2011 season thread again.

Gary Keedy has signed a new contract to stay at Old Trafford next year. Be interested to see how it plays out with him and Kerrigan.

Warwickshire presumably interested in Wainwright now? They will be throwing plenty at James Taylor as well

Oh and Mark Chilton has retired, good time to go out I suppose

Cork retired as mentioned elsewhere, Loye was released by Northants, assume he will retire. Hales signed a new 3 year deal with Notts, Andrew Hall signed a 3 year deal with Northants as well.

Wouldn't be surprised, there's a couple of other young spinners coming through as well, depends if he's happy just playing OD cricket as he's probably our no. 1 in that form

Yes I thought Keedy would be on his way to Edgbaston with the young spinners coming through. But as he proved again he's still a matchwinner and I can understand Lancs offering him a new deal. I'm sure Keedy himself will not want to hinder the development of the likes of Kerrigan and Parry, as mentioned Parry may be exploring pastures new, a season-long loan deal may be the best solution for Lancs.

Kent have announced that Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace and players Martin van Jaarsveld and Joe Denly will be leaving the club.

Meh.

Yes Joe Denly has signed for Middlesex, while Van Jaarsveld has joined Leicestershire. The signs aren't good for Kent improving next year, maybe there are more exits to come yet too.

Yeah things not looking good at all for them, is unusual seeing them down the bottom but looks like they are going to have to get used to it. Obviously got big financial problems, will just have to hope they get some young talent coming through.

One positive for Kent was the contract extension signed by Sam Northeast, but the incoming coach will have a host of problems to sort out before the 2012 season. Finances clearly aren't good, and it may be that a host of youngsters will be thrown in at the deep end. There's the likes of Matt Coles and Alex Blake that look promising, alongside Northeast, but the batting is seriously weakened with the departures of Denly and MVJ.

Denly not that much of a loss really. Hasn't really kicked on and is still rather average. Although moving on to Middlesex might help him personally in that respect.

Just because Denly's not really international standard doesn't mean losing him isn't a blow, especially considering it's along with MVJ at the same time, thus having them lose a substantial part of their regular batting. Chances are he's better than whatever newbie they'll have to go with in his place.

Denly might be a small loss in the 4-day game, but it will do Kent a favour in limited overs cricket - particularly T20.

Old fat face will certainly have to get his fair share of runs next year if they are going to compete, that is assuming he will not follow others out the door, must be on decent money but guess he is one they will have to keep.

Yeah a good point. The ideal county batsman is the guy who's good but not that good, so he's not always being taken away on Test duty. My lot are well stocked with such players - Joyce, Nash, Yardy, and (for other reasons) Goodwin. I think the loss of Denly and MVJ will be a big blow for K*nt.

There was talk of Key joining Surrey last season wasn't there - not sure if that's still under discussion. We played most of our matches without a recognised opener, got away with it of course but it may not be so easy in Div 1. There's no obvious vacancy in the top order though unless Ramprakash decides to call it a day.
