What is it with newbie bowlers outshining their experienced counterparts lately? First Praveen, then Bracewell, then Yadav (of the seamers) and now Cummins.

Cos the rest of them are ****? :p
Pretty much.

Chris Martin and Jeetan Patel vs Ponting at Brisbane; you know it's going to happen.

I'd put my money on all three failing ftr. Patel bowls a short and wide straight break which Ponting cuts to Martin (who is inexplicably at point) and drops it, before Martin gets him on the cut next over with a ball seven metres outside off, which goes straight to Patel at point and the specialist fielder takes it.

Seaming stocks all time low, etc.

Philander's brilliant debut notwithstanding, it's harder to do if the incumbents have anything about them.

The good thing is though that the newbies have all looked the business, rather than just the best of a sorry lot.
