What is a crisis situation in Test cricket?

If you want to quantify a crisis situation Vijay, get a blood pressure machine attached to the batsman and monitor his blood pressure throughout the innings.

LOL! That;s a good idea but it may not solve the problem because we will be measuring "crisis" based on batsman's perspective rather than actual situation. So you would find a scorecard reading 10 for 9 wickets and Sehwag's BP will still be alright. Or you will find a scorecard reading 150 for 1 and Rahul's BP will still not be normal.

I think a crisis situation is one where a batsman is playing overseas while his woman is making out with his neighbour back home. Anyone knows how batsmen have performed in such circumstances?

Gilly failed in the Test series in 2001 after getting to know Slater was sleeping with his wife.

Each batsman would have a baseline reading, and we would monitor them throughout the game. We could use that to assign values for each batsmen against the pressure that they experience as compared to their baseline readings.

Would make an interesting case study. Someone like Misbah rarely shows pressure, whereas Ponting would have high readings.
