ICC Test team of the Year

Oh, I didn't realise it wasn't up until now. Re-doing statsguru and finishing on 3rd August then... In that case, Bell averages 25 more than Tendulkar over the voting period (90 vs 65), and scored one more hundred.

Actually good point... runs scored against a minnow at home shouldn't count. Just makes the gap bigger. ;)
Bell is first up against ABDV though.

Ab de villiers has played 2 big innings in the period only which boosts his average.

One in Abu Dhabi where even Pakistani batsman looked good(which says it all) and one very quick century in Centurion against a Indian attack without Zaheer and with Umadkat who had largely given up and runs were served on a platter.

Cricinfo comments are amazing.

Sachin should win the best player award this year also.Seriously all other player in the list looks like tailenders in front of great sachin. If its batting award close your eye and pick sachin, else your jealous of "world greatest batman of all time".Long live the master. Some stats for jealous peoples: 1.India won the WC...Sachin the 2nd highest run scorer. 2.India drew vs SA in SA for first time, sachin is highest run scorer for india. 3.India beaten Austrlia at home 2-0 and sachin again is highest run scorer for india. India lost badly vs ENg 0-4...who was highest run scorer?? That show the importance of great sachin,,,,When ever he clicks india have done well..

Oh so you think that England should get the award for the checking Laxmans bat for vaseline or Swann running out Tendulkar at non-strikers end(bowlers usually give a first warning to the batsman in the spirit of cricket)? Are you sure that its not you who should love to appreciate qualities of subcontinental players?
I'm not sure this guy really had any idea what was going on...

As if this team shouldn't be chocker full of England players. People like those last two commenters should be banned from computers.

Wow. If we had an award for "Most spectacularly ill-informed cricket follower" yer man would be up there.

He seems to be under the impression Swann Mankaded Sachin, which, of course a) he didn't & b) is now illegal once the bowler has enetered his delivery stride.

Better than the Test one.

I'd like to find room for Amla and Jayawardene, but it's already a bit of a cop out selecting 3 openers anyway. Other than that, not much to grumble about.

Terrible from the ICC. Amla and Gambhir were nominated for ODI cricketer of the year. Yet they can't make the team. Priceless.

Dilshan top scores in WC against Zimbabwe and England. Then he goes to England and scores 9,3,0, 4, 6 is ODIs

Tsotsobe is a candidate, best economy for anyone who had taken more than 20 wickets in the period. Afridi has done fairly well too.

OMM!

U19 12th Man
I'm still in utter disbelief they didn't pick Matt Prior in the Test Team of the Year.

It must be the worst decision by the ICC ever.

Sanga ahead of Watson for the ODI player of the year. Eh... Anyway it's all filled with batsmen (boring) still think Steyn should have been Test player of the year last year. Instead of that flat track bully Sehwag.

Trott cricketer of the year.
