"I want to raise my hand and say one thing. Those who complain about my love for the game or commitment to the game are clueless. These are the only 2 areas where I give myself 100 out of 100."
- Sachin Tendulkar, as told in an interview published in Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika after his 100th International century (translated by weldone)
This is probably the third time I'm ending up with Richie Benaud in my team in a draft. Such a value player - a master legspinner, a master captain and a very capable lower-order batsman. Benaud is certainly among the best spin-bowling alrounders the game has seen.
Team so far:
Reserves: Paul Harris
Haha I got Beer.
"I will go down as Darren Sammy, the one who always smiles" - Darren Sammy
Almost managed Gupte there. Well played by Blakus, he's probably in the lead at the moment from the looks of things.
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW
Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta
Someone must have got an absolute steal in that round.
Solkar, Beer, Agarkar were probably the three worst players, so at a guess you'd assume they went for $1, $200, and $250,000.
But that leaves a quality player who someone snapped up for only $500,666.
Or was it me?
"Your averages, captain, coaches and players can probably survive incompetence over a relatively short series, so if youíre going to be rubbish, make sure itís against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand or someone."
Sent my bids and nomination. Lets see what happens.
I won't make it a secret that I got Gupte for 500,000 odd. A pleasant surprise which puts me well under budget.
Yep. I missed Gupte by a few dolloars so I knew it was you. I think I may have said it earlier, but good job getting him Blakus.
Thanks. Congratulations to you for getting one of the best named cricketers of all time (too bad about his actual skills though).
Thanks. He does have a fabulous name. Can just imagine all the favourite drink jokes he must have heard growing up.
