Is the runs per wicket ratio just england's runs per wicket compared to India's runs per wicket. Or is it more complicated than that.

Interesting stuff Dave - presumably you'll be doing the definitive analysis of the relative quality of the Chapman/May/Illingworth and Strauss teams next?

It's offset based on era because the degree of home dominance has varied over the years, as explained here (also linked in the recent feature).
