*Official* Fourth Test at The Oval

That just isn't going to happen though is it, Tremlett's just come back into the side and has become England's main opening bowler with Jimmy, soon as he's fit again he'll be back. The good thing for England is that he hasn't had a major injury, it's just been a niggle he hasn't shaken off yet.
I always worry with back issues - especially with his history of injuries. Certainly hope it is just a niggle, but considering he was set to play the third test yet is now missing the fourth, it could be worse than expected.

I'm not sure is as clear cut as that, either. If Bres keeps playing to such a high standard as he has been doing, it will be a very tough choice. Also, I'd love to see him starting in the subcont./UAE with a chance of reverse and all.

Tremlett being fit was always a bonus for England rather than something they could expect.

Same as India with Zaheer. Trouble is Zaheer IS the Indian attack.
TBF Zaheer has played more international games in the past 12 months than Tremlett has managed in 6 years. Khan has played 7 tests + a plethora of limited overs cricket in the past 10 months, Tremlett 10 tests in over 4 years. At this rate Tremlett will be 34 time he plays 20 test matches. Zaheer by contrast has played 79 test matches (+ 191 ODIs) for India in 11 years, which is a decent effort when you consider he spent a few years in the wilderness. Khan's got injury problems and a history but Tremlett is in a different league.

Congratulations England for the No 1 position! Its one thing to get there, another to stay. India had to whitewash WI in WI soil just not to lose points.

All the Best England!!

Hope India comes back strongly in this test and the Aus series. Personally think Kohli should play instead of Raina today. RP to Sreesanth would only be a like for like replacement. Both bleed runs and take wickets on their day.

tbf it's not as if Tremlett was unavailable for most of the time between his debut in 2007 and his recall at the end of last year. At least I don't think it is. The selectors simply ignored him for a while didn't they?
