The England setup shouldn't ignore him. If he does get fit again then we have a potentially world class backup, even if he does only have a few years left in him.

He'll be on tour in the winter. May as well let him have a couple of games for Slurrey if he is fit let him have a few games to give himself confidence if he needs it after the latest setback.

Pleased that Onions is back in the England set-up, wouldn't take any risk with Anderson if there's a slight doubt with him. Finn will obviously come into contention, if it was a series-deciding game, I'd personally have more faith in Onions coming straight in and doing a job, obviously a more like for like replacement for Anderson in terms of the length he bowls. With India's struggles against the rising ball, Finn becomes a real option, though I'd prefer to see Onions back in an England shirt at this stage.

Really hope that Finn isnt brought into the side to bowl short. Not just because he's not suited to doing so but its a terrible idea anyways. Let Bresnan handle the short stuff, Finn needs to do what is most suited to his low/slingy bowling action which is bowl a fuller length.

Should definitely get some county games in if possible. Suggestions that we should "just invest in Finn" and give up on him? Nooo.

In the situation that Finn/Onions comes in and takes a 5-fer as part of a generally excellent performance (and for all you naysayers, Swann can take one too)...what the hell is our attack for the winter?

That just isn't going to happen though is it, Tremlett's just come back into the side and has become England's main opening bowler with Jimmy, soon as he's fit again he'll be back. The good thing for England is that he hasn't had a major injury, it's just been a niggle he hasn't shaken off yet.

If the descriptions are accurate, then that's a terrible attitude from India. Should at least aim to give their fans something to smile at FFS

Simon Jones had a minor niggle that he just couldn't shake off..
