First Sinclair ton of the season is up. Had a bit of a scratchy start to the season did Skippy but it's still very early days and he's got the monkey off his back now. #repost

Bloody Jeets takes 5 wickets. Why didn't he do that against Zimbabwe? Woodcock got 4 too though... Maybe Auckland are just horrible against slow bowlers. Can't really say Auckland were trying to hit out and set up a chase either - took 50 overs to score their 125. 249 might just be chaseable for Wellington in 70 overs or so if they play well.

Not a very attacking declaration by CD against Canterbury after Canterbury declared behind. Canterbury will just have to shut up shop as they won't chase 345.

It's good to see Santner with a couple of wickets early doors. I've seen bugger all of him with the ball but he can bat. If his bowling does prove to be any good he'll be a bloody usefull player that's for sure.

A pair for Murdoch. Ouch. Wellington's two best batsmen at the crease.

Bruce Martin keeps taking wickets with the new ball and not the old. It's still a mystery why Auckland have Bhupinder Singh in the side if Martin is there as well.

Verma finally makes his first class debut, not the best of starts though. Should of just waited until the new ball was available.

Gillette Cup 2011 !

New Venue . New Format for the Gillette Cup in 2011. NRR perhaps.

New Zealand Cricket - Gillette Cup cricket competition to kick off at new home

Unlike Schools Rugby no Live TV Coverage of a match.Shame.

From 75 schools in 1990 to over 200 now. An NZC success story !

How many kids have played Gillette Cup cricket over the past 21 years? 20,000 .

No CBHS this year ! OBHS and PNBHS are back.

Schools which play their cricket in a Men's comp. usually dominate the finals ?Great to be able to follow the matches.

Good on Craig Cumming. Wasn't too bad for NZ but should have done a lot better.
I think Dale Steyn making a mess of his cheekbone prety much made a mess of his international career as well. From memory, was 47 not out in that innings and looking really good. Not saying he would've kicked on to an amazing career, but he may have made the spot his for a while longer.

I'm not sure it deserves its own thread (it may well do) but anyone see the article on Stuff about the statistical and percentile weighings that now go into national selection? NZC has lost its mind. As someone said, why not just make Francis Payne the head of selectors?
