bloody brilliant day of cricket. England show once again why they're no. 1, and India doing well to hang on despite being the overwhelming underdogs.

no, but seriously, this was a really eventful, interesting day of cricket. hoping for 3-4 more days like this.
Not sure if serious?

If India don't go on to win this, they'll be gutted, 2 tests in a row, they've won the toss and bowled in very good bowling conditions. We'll see what tomorrow brings as far as the bowling condition but from a England point of view, they'll be wanting the same again as today.

Quite a brilliant day of play. Exactly what one should expect from 2 top sides playing. England really proved how good a competitor they are for the throne with that awesome counter attack. Mukund was really disappointing, - such an extravagant shot after watching what the ball is capable of doing through the English innings.

How I wish the game starts 3 hours later. Almost impossible for me to catch the first session.

It's over.Well done Dravid-Laxman.
THE DAY BELONGED TO INDIA
Think its fairly an even day taking into account how the pitch behaved. Indian batsmen didn't look comfortable as well. Would be interesting to see if sun comes out tomorrow. Will be a great contest.

yeah the right order restored. england can consider themselves lucky to get to two hundred odd.
There's nothing lucky about having Test Cricket's best lower order. And nothing is restored either. Tomorrow could go either way.

Indeed. As much as England's batting infuriated me, Broad and Swann batted well. India should also try to counter attack after about 40 overs.

Considering how India had 2 openers and ZAK missing, they would be happy with their overall performances.

Depends on how they bat tomorrow and what the conditions are but think India had marginally the better day.

just saw a bit of highlights- seems like pitch is misbehaving quite a bit. it's two-paced, there's uneven bounce, some balls are seaming. There's swing too...

if two of lax, sach, dravid don't score big tomorrow, india are stuffed.

Great days play that- fairly evenly poised? India would have felt on top for sure before Broad and Swann had that great partnership, but ebbed and flowed, one way then the other. Certainly could have had one or two more wickets in the evening- generally speaking though, India's fielding was not all that I thought- not what one expects from a No.1 side, albeit Raina's catch in particular was very sharp.

Think these 3 need to atleast survive till 50 overs and put atleast 100 on the board.

After that the old ball begins to swing less and the likes of Raina,Yuvraj,Harbhajan and Dhoni can counter. Everbody till the bottom will need to contribute and atleast get to 250.

dont worry, i predicted the declaration for india at 600/4 with tendulkar hitting his first unbeaten triple. if my accuracy stays consistent we should be all out at 500 with tendulkar hitting a double.

One note on commentators- listened to TMS up until lunch, Boycott compared Sreesanth and Kumar to good club bowlers (he rated Sharma though clearly)...
