Sri Lanka A in England

Tour us underway. and the 1st match is against Leics.

JK Silva*†, SM Warnapura, HDRL Thirimanne, SC Serasinghe, ARS Silva, PBB Rajapaksa, CKB Kulasekara, SMSM Senanayake, S Prasanna, RMS Eranga, ABT Lak****ha

Very well balanced team. I would liked to have Nuwan Pradeep and Prasad there but they are out for different reasons

Ones to watch

Kaushal Silva - wicket keeper batsman, and a very good one at that. Big runs from him will put more pressure on PJ
Sachithra Senanayake - Off break bowler, whom I think should be bowling to Aussies in August
HDRL Thirimanne - Compact opening batsman.
PBB Rajapakshe - dasher of Jaya mould. If he gets two hours at crease, he takes the game away.
S. Prasanna - unorthodox leggie, who bowls top spinning and back spinning leg breaks, in Anil Kumble like pace.

Will be interesting to see how Bhanuka Rajapakse does. He's in form at the moment. Scored 166 and 50 odd not out at a exceptional SR in his last game although it was against a pretty ordinary attack. He also did well at under 19's recently against England. Hope he does well and starts knocking on the door of the first team.

Senanayake has an excellent FC record.I wonder why he hasn't been selected for SL yet!!
Taylor's dealt with him alright so far - both spinners it seems (Prasanna has just as good a record as Senanayake, actually). WAG.

But, yeah, agree with you. Sri Lankan supporters seem angered by it, and they know best.

James Taylor is a star in the waiting. Definitely has to be ahead of the likes of Bopara.

Interesting that SLA decided to put Leicestershire in to bat first when they have 2/3 spinners in their bowling attack.

Pathetic show by SL A batsmen. Looks like they want to emulate their seniors. Kosala Kulasekara's performance is a shock (5/65 and 41*), but Shaminda Eranga, looks the real deal by the looks of it. Every wicket was taken by bowling straight.

I refuse to believe that Wayne White has taken them apart with a devastating spell, so that'll be one of the more embarrassing days in the Sri Lanka A record books.

Just saw the scores on this and I'm shocked and very disappointed. Poor game by the A team but Kosala Kulasekara seems to be having a good game so far.

Would rather not have seen Meaker just yet, but I rate Brooks, and he's an Oxfordshire boy too, so no issues with that one. The Root call seems a bit weird, mind, and Kieswetter as a specialist bat in the four-day is an interesting one.
