Rank the current intl keepers by their combined (keeping+batting) abilities

Athlai

Not Terrible
The top 3 of Dhoni, Haddin and Prior are all pretty close tbh.
Then I'd go...
Prasanna
Boucher
Rahim
Kackmal
Baugh
Dropkins (we do have a new keeper in Young now but it's impossible to rate him yet)

I don't think any are particularly remarkable keepers, Boucher is in decline. Prasanna has been a bit exposed in his last few series, maybe due to more keeping to pace bowlers. Rahim and Baugh are passable. Kackmal is woeful.

Of the big 3 I'd probably say Haddin is the best with the gloves but they're all equally average really.

State Vice-Captain
prior - has come along leaps and bounds over the past year
dhoni - his batting in the series so far has been village
haddin - good batting nick but somehow don't quite rate his keeping, perhaps unfairly
jayawardene - his batting was rather good in england, but his keeping was atrocious.
boucher - past his sell by

Did miss three easy stumpings in the space of about 30 overs in an ODI during the summer, tbh

Just out of curiosity, how good was Trescothick as a keeper?
Meh. A stopper with gloves.

Of all the occasional keepers we've used Morgan actually looks about the best. With practice I reckon he could make a go of it.

Anyway:

Prior
Haddin
Dhoni
Boucher
Prasanna
Mushfiqur
Kamran
Baugh

Baugh looks really solid with the gloves TBH. I'd have him above Calamity Kamran for that alone, even if he averaged 0 with the bat.

Akmal as a specialist bat would be more valuable to Pakistan then him keeping :p

1. Dhoni (good batsman, very good keeper nowadays)
2. Haddin (good batsman, good keeper)
3. Prior (good batsman, not among the best keepers)
4. Prasanna (probably the best keeper in the world now)
5. Boucher (both his batting and his keeping has waned, could have topped this list in his prime)
6. Baugh (among the two best keepers in the world ATM IMO along with Prasanna, but batting needs improvement)
7. Mushfiqur (good keeper, not-so-good batsman)
8. Kamran (good batting for a keeper, but **** wicketkeeping)
9. Hopkins (neither good batting, nor good keeping)
