BCCI's arm twisting scuttled the ICL

Couldn't care less about the ICL. I do feel for those players though that ended up in isolation because of the stance that was taken, after they had made their commitment.

That's the most disappointing part of it. Chaps like Shane Bond and Chris Read signed up with the knowledge and (at least tacit) consent of their boards and found themselves on the outers because of subsequent events. Bond lost about 18 months of his international career because of it.

IIRC one of the English T20 finalists were also banned from the Champions League because they had a few ICL contracted players.

The respective boards' lack of backbone was unedifying if not surprising.
