Good for Wellington. Will bring a lot of value to fielding and identifying new talent. Is a winner and knows how to drag even average performers to their best.

Not Terrible
Yeah. He needs players who are at least average to work with in the first place.
Hey with blokes who were below average he managed to beat New Zealand 4-0.

So with Wellington we should at least be able to get into the top 4 of our own domestic comp.

Big dreams.

Will say this; Siddons came to SA in '92 after winning a Shield with Victoria, was made captain and within 3 years, SA had gone from cellar-dwellers to a Shield final followed by a win the following year. Every elite team he's been involved with has at least improved their results. Gun bloke, can't speak highly enough of him. Wellington are lucky to have him.

It'll take a fair effort from any coach to turn around a representative team in a city with the worst elite sporting culture in the country...

I was gonna say harsh but then I thought Hurricanes, Lions, Firebirds, Pulse...and realised you were spot on.

Siddons will do good things in Wellington. The likes of Elliott, Woodcock, Patel, McKay, Franklin and Gillespie won't be playing a lot for NZ - makes the nucleus of a good side.

Plus he's got the Sri Lankan javelin champion for the T20s doesn't he?
