Should ICC be destroyed?

ICC is a horrible sporting organization, neither it cares about associate countries and growing cricket in other countries, nor does it care for the dying cricket in countries like West Indies, its time ICC to be replaced with a new different organization, I wish FIFA can manage cricket too, they have done a great job on expanding soccer around the world, ICC is a utter failure, it has done nothing right.

If FIFA ran cricket then South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and any other cricket board where there is government interference would be banned immediately. FIFA is a corrupt organisation but it ****s on the ICC.

oh yeah it's not the worst thing ever, but it's hardly something the ICC should aspire to. It needs a restructuring but it doesn't need to be destroyed.

The countries are the ICC.

The ICC is just made up of the Chief Execs of the 10 or 12 Test playing nations.

It's not a separate body that presides over cricket.

The ICC has proven for all the world to see that its current voting structure is not capable of accomplishing its stated mission. Either it needs to change the voting structure or it needs to change its mission!

they have to vote to change the voting structure.......... back to the drawing board....

what a truly horrible op. ICC has got enough to do with cricket in WI as it has to in India. If you're blaming ICC for "death" of cricket in WI, you'll have to praise for it's exponential growth in the SC. cricket in WI is "dying" because people aren't interested as they were before.

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Agree. In theory its about 'all' the countries, but we all know who wears the pants.....
This morning's coherent thought has been interrupted by the mental image of an ICC meeting where half the members are without underwear.

Er, carry on.

That and the system as it stands, one board/one vote, encourages the more political boards to cultivate votes amongst the smaller nations (looking at you BCCI and ZCU). Not against that, per se, but there's something amiss when Zimbabwe can always count on India's vote in return, what with financial irregularities/KPMG audits and whatnot.

I wonder whether things would be any better if every nation (full, associate, affiliate) had 1 vote each. Would that just make the politics worse?
