    Icon8 Australia’s 2 test tour of South Africa 2011

Was originally going to be a 3 match test series but the ****ing Champions League has meant the series will be curtailed. Though Aus will probably still play 3+ ODIs and possibly 2 20/20 games in the Republic later this year. Sri Lanka get 3 test matches but they are touring over Christmas.

Would be better to just move the series until 2012 and play Aus in March or something. The wickets and weather is going to be iffy in October as well.

Official confirmation from CSA will come later this week but this is what South African media are reporting.

Well thats just insane. All the fuss over the moving of the series from christmas period, and they go and stuff it even further by only having 2 tests. Crazy.

Don't blame the league, blame the ball-less cricket boards.

Hate two match series, this is really annoying.

Good to hear that SL are playing 3 matches though, that is the least they should get when they tour outside the subcontinent.

Who decides the number of matches for a series? The ICC or the boards?

However many Tests are played it should make for a good series. The return of Johnson to South Africa is an exciting prospect. South Africa to win with ease though. If Australia couldn't handle Anderson and Tremmers, how would they last against Steyn and Morkel on home soil?

They went pretty well last time actually. Steyn and Morkel might have improved a bit though, particularly Morkel

Yeah, matchups work in funny ways. I've had the feeling that Australia have had a bit of a psychological edge over SA since readmission, even when SA finally won in Australia, they immediately lost at home a couple of months later.

That was mainly just because Johnson went nuts.

Dont forget Hughes and North defying all reasonable logic by scoring big important runs against the best pace attack in home conditions. Dont know how we managed to pull off that series win! Playing no spinner helped.
