Cricket australia contracts

And just quietly, where does 2928 runs in 33 matches at 50.38 put Kat in terms of australian openers.

(Shame Richard isn't here. We could have had a nice Hayden debate!)

currently? 3/4/5. Shifts himself around to suit the team. When he got recalled to the Aus squad he was at 3 and just hit 20 000 runs for the season, and then Hayden (?) got injured and he got told to open
Thought it was Jaques that got injured. Or maybe that was later - Hayden did pick up an injury about that time.

Pretty suprised that Katich has been dumped completely to be honest - thought he'd be there as an option at least, but with Hughes and Khawaja they probably think there is enough cover in the opening ranks as well as S Marsh and Paine having done it occassionally at FC level.

Reckon Cummins might be a NSW vs CA tug of war with his contract - think CA might want full control over his future after the rumblings re: the academy from NSW towards the end of the summer which they wouldn't get unless he was on their payroll. Would be suprised if he was in the frame for Test cricket, at least.

Gotta admit I'm a little suprised that 3 spinners are contracted - I'd only have bothered with Hauritz and maybe Doherty as a OD specialist. Smith as we stand is a bits-and-pieces batsman who bowls option more than anything.

Ronald McDonald and Voges a little unlucky to miss out baring in mind D Hussey got a start. Hopes had his best ever summer but unfortunately for him the writing is on the wall - exactly the type of cricketer Chappell seems to take delight in snubbing.

Looks as good as we have available imo.
Seriously, that side looks weaker without Kat. We've lost our best spin bowlers as well. Punter can't be up the top of the order anymore against proper quick bowlers. His reflexes aren't good enough.

Who is going to be the gritty player in the top order now? I reckon it's always good to have one.
WELL IN THE XI I POSTED BEFORE I WAS HOPING kHAWAJA COULD POTENTIALLY PROVIDE THAT ROLE.

I THINK HUSSEY IS PRETTY USELESS OVERSEAS NOW

At least I didn't hear the phrase 'in a period of rebuilding' thrown around (yet). I'll throw my twitter box out the window if it gets spouted off.

I'm at work and was posting this reply in between serving customers and when the register system is on everything i type out is in caps. Usually CW doesn't let a post contain all caps but it seems to have let it slide this time.
