Yeah Siddons was first in my mind, and Jamie Cox on a lesser scale.

In with a shout of pipping Berry, Wade Seccombe. Healy rated him much higher than Gilchrist with the gloves.

Fun fact about Siddons: Once dobbed Fuller into the Adelaide cops for setting a bin on fire.

Class player, not sure how many claims he has to be in the side over the others, but still unlucky not to be capped at test level.
Yeah great player but I did think he was a better player before Merv broke his jaw. Don't think he was quite the same player after that, especially to anything around head height (which he obviously copped a lot of afterward).

Yeah batted very differently after Merv, was a lot more jumpy at the crease, but not in a bad way just a different way, I doubt he was scared. But he always seemed to be waiting for the short ball and pulled and hooked a lot less. Still was a superb front foot player, and great behind sqaure on the off side.

Siddons also played two games of VFL footy for the Swans.

Garth Le Roux is pretty unlucky to miss out. Also Ray Jennings for keeper.

Gilbert clearly an emotional and sentimental pick. Its your list and I guess we are all allowed them. Personally my sentimental pick may have been Big 'Stan' Mortensen

Indeed - tbh I think Raees Mohammad and Schneider were as well

Bit surprised at yours though Goughy - thought you might have gone for Tony Nicholson - I nearly did but figured I could wax lyrical better about Gilbert

Good call. A lot of people who faced Imran and Le Roux when they were at Sussex said that Le Roux was the better bowler. Ill say it quietly so I dont get slaughtered by all the Imran lovers on here. But even Imran himself would have agreed.....

A recent uncapped Aus XI could almost beat the current test XI.

    What about:
    Maher
    Cox
    DiVenuto
    D Hussey
    Siddons
    D Marsh
    I Harvey
    Berry
    D Wright
    Nannes
    Tazelaar / Inness

Not many contenders from NSW though...
