Yes, the test series with Sri Lanka was ruined by rain, but in the cricket that was played, the Windies matched the hosts in most departments, which is interesting, considering that there's a new captain in Sammy, Sarwan has been left out, and the West Indies were without injured pacers Taylor and Edwards.

1) Gayle (WI) 367
2) Sanga (SL) 228
3) Darren Bravo (WI) 207
4) Nash (WI) 160

4) Shilly (WI) 5 wkts

Winners on the tour
1) Gayle
2) Lil Bravo
3) Nash
4) Roach

Losers on the tour
1) Big Bravo - poor with bat and ball
2) Barath - good half-century, but fell away in the second Test
3) Shiv - average of 31 is poor by his standards
4) Sammy - still needs to do more with bat and ball

Treading water
1) Baugh - okayish with gloves, and averaged 30 with the bat, so deserves another series
2) Smith - good half-century to show he deserves another chance
3) Russell - good start, but landing foot is a problem
4) Shilly - took wickets, but needs to sort out his action
5) Benn - only one wicket on tour, and needs to sort out behaviour

From SL's point of view with the above in mind:

Winners on the tour:
1. Samaraweera - Starting to prove his critics wrong.
2. Sangakkara - Top performance from a top batsman
3. Mendis - Has improved this series and become a bit more consistent.
4. Herath - Gave the selectors a headache and bowled a few telling variations.

Losers on the tour:
1. Mahela - Didn't turn up at all with the bat and a poor series on the whole.
2. Dilshan - Couple of decent scores but not up to his standards. Missed his contribution at the top.
3. Prasad - Poor showing and didn't contribute enough.
4. Mathews - Strangely subdued for this series. Needs to regain full fitness.

Treading water:
1. Randiv - Bit of hammering from Gayle in the first test. Needs to be a bigger threat.
2. Lakmal - Bowled some trash on occations but was running in and giving it all. Not a bad showing.
3. Thushara - Needs to regain his line and probably still rusty from his time out.
4. Paranavithana - Few good performances but looked troubled by Roach. Must continue working hard.

All in all a wasted series. If the organizers knew that weather at this time of the year is so wet then they shouldn't have scheduled it for now.

Well Its been raining in the southern part of India too. Although it's common now, The amount of rain was certainly unexpected. I would not blame the organizers for this..
