Was the Oval, the "We'll get 'em in singles" match, Fred? Yeah I know it's apocryphal, but it's a good myth.

'twas indeed, and it's sort of true - Rhodes snicked one through the slips for four at the beginning but if they had their little chat after that then 'tis true (well if you disregard an overthrow)

The Oval even though it was the 2nd best test in the series (behind the 4th test at Old Trafford)

16 votes, well done CW. "We'll get em in singles" wins.

Three more Australian matches, and this looks like a beauty.

4th Test: England v Australia at Manchester, Jul 26-31, 1956 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

2nd Test: Australia v England at Adelaide, Dec 1-5, 2006 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

1st Test: Pakistan v Australia at Karachi, Sep 28-Oct 2, 1994 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Old Trafford. 19/90 & all that.

I'll vote for Old Trafford too, although the Karachi match looks amazing.

Karachi is a memorable scorecard, though sadly tainted by the fact that Malik played a significant role, but as brumbers says you can't look beyond 19-90, so Old Trafford for me too

Karachi, best test I ever saw Pakistan involved in some very high quality bowling from 3 W's (Wasim, Warne and Waqar) David Boon's hundred was a masterpiece and any game that puts Ian Healy in a bad light is surely a winner.
