Icon10 New prodigy creates history

Deepak Chahar made a sensational first-class debut with an eight-wicket haul as Hyderabad slumped to the lowest total in the history of Ranji Trophy when it folded for just 21 runs against Rajasthan in a Plate division match in Jaipur on Monday (November 1). Chahar, an 18-year-old medium pacer, sizzled on the opening day of the 2010 season as he gave away just 10 runs in an amazing spell of 7.3 overs. Rajasthan skipper Hrishikesh Kantikar opted to bowl and what unfolded was an unbelievable drama.

Hope he is not an IPL victim to be. He's only 18, it will will demolish his confidence.

Kid has that Waqar Banana swing, Move over Aamer.

Impressive. He looks to have some rather decent pace too, as well as the ability to swing the ball both ways.

Some ridiculously good deliveries there.

Also remember a Pakistani bowler bowling similar inswingers against India in Srilanka at the u-19 World cup a few years ago.

Hope Chahar turns out better than him.

Awesome inswingers. Lets hope he can do better and lets hope BCCI does not spoil him by offering a spot little too early. 2-3 years of good domestic experience will help him since he is just 18.

Looks Tuffey pace tbh, but if he can generate that swing with some consistency it won't matter.

And he has already picked up another wicket in his only over in the second innings with hyderabad at 8 for 2 after 2 overs.

That after Rajasthan scored 403 in their innings with a Kanitkar 193 not out.

Where do you guys watch the Ranji/highlights? Video on the link doesn't seem to work for me. I only got to watch a horribly boring Delhi game on Neo.

Obviously when you're bowled out for 21 there was awful batting. I don't recall any time where a team was bowled out for less than 100 and there wasn't awful batting.
