His average wasn't quite that good - he played in several games where bowler runs conceded weren't recorded, so cricinfo have effectively given him figures like 5/0 off 20 overs. His average is estimated to be between 7 and 11.
1825-1853, according to Wikipedia. Bowled roundarm.
He died in 1854, which prevented him playing any longer.
