This is ****ing ********. Why can the third umpire tell them no balls but not when someone edges the ball onto their ****ing pad.

Cricket is a ****ing mess right now.
Haha yup. Technology doesn't improve outcomes...mmmkay?

So glad to see India get the **** end of this though.

But what if the UDRS was in play?

Guptill wouldn't have referred it, but would the third umpire still have told the onfield umpire?

Why are no balls treated differently?

It's not an UDRS issue, it's an inconsistency of umpiring issue. Wtf is going on.

Umpire has been asking them to check no balls with every wicket this series IIRC.

So, Guptill's impressing so far then

What's it going to take to get him into form when he couldn't even score runs against Zimbabwe A? Even with another twenty runs in edges, a few more helpful umpiring decisions and a dropped catch or two I still wonder if he'd come right. Should be playing domestic cricket.

Well that's a good thing. The irony is if the UDRS was in place Guptill would have been dismissed.

Every ball Guptill gets that's straight at his stumps, he's trying to play on the on side, right across the line. If the ball's straight, play straight!!

There is no room in ODIs for a ten over run rate of 2..Ten powerplay overs in hand..There is no point of NZ waiting and waiting.

He hit 50s in three consecutive Tests before his pair, did he not?

He's not very good but he's the best available IMO. You can't just keep going through opener after opener - eventually the penny has to drop that you don't really have any particularly good ones.
Your opinion, even if he does actually gets some runs today, but still a poor mans Richardson for mine

Has it been every wicket that they've asked to check?

I've umpired bits and pieces, and so many times I look down and think, "Ooh, that's close, maybe it was" but you have to call it straight away. Reckon it's fair enough in instances where the bowler is close to the line.
