Nicely done. Besides drafts where the criteria was that you had to select players from every test playing nation, I don't think anyones ever done that before.

For my back-up player I'm taking Lee Irvine. A fine batsman and a potential reserve keeper.

    1.Allan Rae 1016 runs @ 46.18
    2.Andrew Strauss* 5777 runs @ 43.11
    3.Garry Sobers 8032 runs @ 57.78 , 235 wickets @ 34.03
    4.Martin Donnelly 582 runs @ 52.90
    5.Frank Woolley 3283 runs @ 36.07 , 83 wickets @ 33.91
    6.Wasim Raja 2831 runs @ 36.16 , 51 wickets @ 35.80
    7.Denis Compton 5807 runs @ 50.06 , 25 wickets @ 56.40
    8.Rodney Marsh+ 3633 runs @ 26.51 , 343 catches 12 stumpings
    9.George Hirst 790 runs @ 22.57 , 59 wickets @ 30
    10.Bobby Peel 420 runs @ 14.72 , 101 wickets @ 16.98
    11.Bruce Reid 93 runs @ 4.65 , 113 wickets @ 24.63
    12.Lee Irvine 353 runs @ 50.42

Love the batting strength and depth of this side. The bowling is well balanced with Reid and Peel functioning as my main destroyers. I'll get Sobers to predominately bowl pace, as Woolley more than adequately fills the second spinners slot.
also one ot the few teams where i can brag about the fielding. Sobers, Woolley, Peel, Hirst and Wasim Raja have excellent reputations as fielders. Marsh, with 355 dismissals, is a fairly handy keeper too.

I don't understand the point of selecting a 12th man so I'm going with Raju. A backup spinner for turning conditions. Fantastic bowler at home in India so a nice luxury for my side.

    1. Chris Gayle (88 Tests, 6007 Runs @ 40.31, 72 Wickets @ 41.55)
    2. Trevor Goddard (41 Tests, 2516 Runs @ 34.46, 123 Wickets @ 26.22)
    3. Larry Gomes (60 Tests, 3171 Runs @ 39.63, 15 Wickets @ 62.0)
    4. Alvin Kallicharran (66 Tests, 4399 Runs @ 44.43)
    5. Jimmy Adams (54 Tests, 3012 Runs @ 41.26, 27 Wickets @ 49.48)
    6. Sourav Ganguly (C) (113 Tests, 7212 Runs @ 42.17, 32 Wickets @ 52.53)
    7. Inzaman-ul-Haq (120 Tests, 8830 Runs @ 49.60)
    8. Adam Gilchrist (WK) (96 Tests, 5570 Runs @ 47.60, 379 Ctch, 37 Stmp)
    9. Mohammad Amir (14 Tests, 278 Runs @ 12.63, 51 Wickets @ 29.09)
    10. Tony Lock (49 Tests, 742 Runs @ 13.74, 174 Wickets @ 25.58)
    11. John Lever (21 Tests, 306 Runs @ 11.76, 73 Wickets @ 26.72)

    12. Venkatapathy Raju (28 Tests, 240 Runs @ 10.00, 93 Wickets @ 30.72)

On the face of it - it might seem like a good move to squeeze Gavascar into your starting XI but in reality how many runs is he is going to make for you left handed. 12 or 13 runs - I don't see him playing any cover drives for 4.

Proudly against the bring back Bennett movement since he is injury prone and won't last 5 days.

Can we just skip the ground selection stage? Interest in this draft is zilch now, it is better to start the poll before another week or so passes.

I agree with this. I was going to take either the basin reserve or Seddon park as I didn't really mind.

Lords, if we're still picking grounds.
