^ Surprised it took until round 9 for Richardson to be taken, as I still needed an opener I'd have strongly considered selecting him for my next pick.

I considered him but I needed a part time bowler for the balance of my side so took jayasuriya - otherwise would have gone with Strauss with an avg of 43 before Richardson's avg of 44. Just would want someone with a bit more flair - I also had the chance to select Bill Lawry at one point but was put off by his reputation as a stone waller.

Left hand openers are plentiful. Still some solid names left unselected. It appears no teams are suffering from any serious balance issues going into the last few rounds.

My only regret is wasting an early pick on my keeper I could have picked up a bowler with that pick and picked up a no name keeper late in the draft. I notice there are about 4 or 5 keepers who played 7 or 8 games each - who are available for selection.

Anyways the draft has been a blast. Glad I played. Well done Michael.

I too was not sure if everyone will end up having a good team....luckily there are plenty of good lefties to make 10-12 finely balanced teams.

Looks like it's only zinzan and I who haven't selected keepers yet - I've two in mind so I'll leave to that till last as I'm guaranteed one or t'other - will be interested to see who zinzan is eyeing up - he might well have one of mine in mind but not, I suspect, the obscure English predecessor of Adam Gilchrist

Larry Gomes played a game or two for my team - he was a friend of one of our players families. The difference in his technique between us and him was like night and day. He was out for 22 but it was the best 22 I have ever seen.

We were having some problems with sledgers in our league. Larry laughed it off and told us stories about the chappell brothers.
