***Official*** Spot-Fixing Scandal

Pretty sure Wahab Riaz himself didn't challenge the integrity of the English team. Also pretty sure that responding with either threats of, or actual physical violence is extremely immature at best. No matter if Trott felt angry or whatever, he acted like a **** if he physically had a go at Riaz.
This is only one side of the story from Afridi,i have also read that Trott made some remark and Riaz confronted Trott and pushing started between the two.

You'd've thought that if we're going to import Saffas into our team they'd at least be man enough to lash out with fists or maybe a bat or a pair of spikes. A batting pad? C'mon Trotty, you can do better than that

Frankly the worst thing that Shoaib could do to that cricket ball would not be to gouge it with his thumbnail but to rub it anywhere near his groinal area

Fast bowler tries to surreptiously alter the condition of the ball - it may be agin the laws but surely its got no place alongside a discussion about match fixing?

Nah come on. If you scratch the side of a ball it is still ball tampering, as it can affect the swing of the ball. Not saying he did it, but it's hardly a 'non-story'.

It is the media's job to expose stuff like this. It may be a non-issue, but purely on those pictures there is a story in it.

I don't buy trapping the ball with spikes as attempted tampering. If memory serves there was a beat up when Broad was pictured doing the same thing.

If either Shoaib or Broad is good enough to trap a cricket ball and make sure they scuff the right side they're playing the wrong sport.

Agree with fred tho; hardly match-fixing, is it? Although it's come to something when ball-tampering seems a relatively harmless little vice.

He doesn't seem to be picking at the seam though. How is this ball tampering?
From the pictures it doesn't look good at all, placing the ball on the floor and treading on it and gouging into one side to ruff it up seems like the definition of ball tampering,so from the picture if taken on face value ,how is it not ball tampering.

Shoaib put the ball on the floor himself and then stood on it. Broad used his boot to control a rolling ball.
Big difference IMHO

I can't imagine how he'd benefit from having the side of the ball scratched up tbh. Isn't the purpose of tampering with the ball to get the seam prominent so you can make it talk?

Didn't Broad tread on the ball earlier too? Again, how does picking at one side of the ball help him? As long as he's tampering with it, he might as well have gone for the seam straight up.
