I can't quite understand the make up of yesterday's team tbh, playing four quicks whilst also having Styris and Devcich in the XI - and even Flynn I suppose really does leave us light on batting with none of the quick bowlers being genuine all rounders. Both Watling and Williamson should have played too, Pukekura Park and it's 45 metre boundaries are probably not going to trouble international batsmen one would think.
AWTA. They really should play all their black caps that they have available. They are good enough to adapt to the conditions and especially when you are coming up against some good domestic bowlers like Mason and co.

Corey Anderson not playing for Canterbury today? He hasn't been bowling so surely hasn't injured himself.......... again.
He's been dealing with Osteitis pubis over the last year or so, his groin flared up so they decided to rest him. It was probably the right call too, from the little I know about OP it's an absolute ****ter of a thing to go through. A career ending condition in some cases if I'm not mistaken.

Southee, Wagner and Milne will probably be our bowling line up in a few years.

Arnel should be in that top bracket IMHO. I still reckon Mills will come back to his best.

Test ratings right?

1.Tim Southee
2.Chris Martin
3.Brent Arnel
4.Trent Boult
5.Hamish Bennett
6.Neil Wagner
7.Graeme Aldridge
8.Andy McKay
9.Doug Bracewell
10.Kyle Mills - Maybe, he's looking rather cooked though.

I can't see Tuffey ever playing test cricket again.

Thats a pretty sad looking line up tbh. Hopefully some young guns come through in the next couple of years

4 of them are young guns in his line up if you count Southee. I think he took youth and potential into account.

Also on Southee...he bowled a great off cutter the other day in the HRV cup. Caught my eye.

Yeah and he is improving his slower ball as well. He will end up contesting leading wicket takers for NZ if he plays for as long as everyone thinks.

Didn't realise Anderson had such a serious condition. Can't see him ever being an all rounder now. His performances in the U19's and for Canterbury would seem to suggest he's good enough to eventually be a specialist left hand bat, but its a real shame nonetheless.

However, it apparently wasn't his groin flaring up that led to him being benched, although he is now out of the rest of the HRV cup.

For some reason, the TAB is offering 2.30 for the Aces to beat ND, despite them being top of the table and ND losing their last two games badly. Ridiculous value.

It's nice to see Flynn looking decent once more. It was really sad how badly his technique and confidence fell apart at the end of his stint in the Black caps.
