He'd be a non factor after we'd bowled them out for 50

I just hope Central Districts can come back from this tbh, god knows we need a strong Central.......wait :p

You'll get your strong Central.

In other news, if Bennett stays with the Black Caps for a while, what are Canterbury going to do for bowlers? There's Anderson and Astle, with Frauenstein for the shorter formats and your Ellis's and Hiini's, but do they have a specialist strike seam/swing bowler or two in the wings? These guys made Hadlee and Bond after all so I hope so.

EDIT: I'm guessing Ryan Burson will feature this season, and possibly Logan van Beek.

Richard Sherlock, Ryan McCone and perhaps Michael Davidson if he's still around. Maybe they might even give Amandeep Singh (if he's still down there at uni) a run finally. But yeah they might be relying on quite a few all rounders to get them through early on.

Will be interesting to see how long Sherlock stays uninjured this time around. Must be infuriating for him.

Amandeep Singh came out of ND didn't he? According to the ICC games he did anyway.:p

Yeah, made his first class debut while he was still at school. He ended up going down to Canterbury for Uni and I don't think he's played too many games for them since.

Pfft that is one bloody long tail. Bracewell at 6? Weakest CD batting lineup in a long time. (Admittedly potentially the best attack next year)

Diamanti at eight is hardly a long tail tbh. Bracewell is an allrounder so may as well give him a chance at six or seven.

Bracewell, van Wyk and Diamanti aren't the worst lower order batsman but having them as your 6-8 just seems like a recipe for a failure IMO. All 3 should be batting 7 onwards, none are number 6 material.

Diamanti probably won't play much of the FC stuff anyway, going on what's happened in previous years. Van Wyk has a decent average, could probably bat six. If we wanted the extra batsman then Worker could bat at six.

Though I'd still like to see Bracewell at six or seven. I think he's capable.

I'd bat Worker at 6 personally or even Noema.

Nah, KNB isn't a FC number six. Bracewell and van Wyk would be better than him.

Worker might benefit from a shuffle down the order though.

Stuart Rhodes could be good for you guys. Had no issues scoring runs last year.

No such thing as too many allrounders. Wish we'd seen Cairns and Oram play together more.

Yeah agree with Athlai, no way is Doug Bracewell a number six in first class cricket. At this stage of his career he's definitely a bowling all-rounder. Heck he's yet to even bat that high for Hawke's Bay so far in his career. Wait till he actually scores some consistant runs batting at eight and then perhaps move him up but no way will he bat that high right now.

I do rate him with the bat though it must be said.

Has anyone heard anything regarding Corey Anderson? He wasn't on the emerging players tour as far as I recall, which leaves me worried that he's injured himself again...

He was selected to go on the Brisbane winter training group which was held just before the emerging players tour but he was injured so couldn't go iirc. Hopefully he can stay fit this summer but doesn't have to give up bowling to do so.
