800!

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
Let's not forget that in addition to reaching 800 Murali reached the remarkable milestone of 6 wicket per test for his career. He is the only bowler with more than 200 wickets to achieve this.
He was poor in the earlier part of his career, particularly against India. With the doosra he was even more potent. Remarkable.

There was a long stretch of his career, around ten years, where he averaged 7 wickets per test match. Absolutely incredible.

Well done Murali - nice to know Ian Botham's scriptwriter from 1981 is alive and well and working in Sri Lanka

Fantastic Murali, as others have said brilliant that he gave himself one test to do it and pulled it off.

An extraordinary record, would be surprised if any of us saw it broken.

Whata playaaaaa!

Would surely be missed....come on Murali...make it 1000.....its only a couple of years for you at most...

Make 2 tours one in Australia and one in England....half of your wickets are there...

Fantastic. Congratulations to him.

But in regards to this photo...
What's the guy on the bottom left doing? Seemingly uninterested in celebrating with his teammates. He's having his own little moment.

Look at his right hand...

Not Terrible
Once, while playing for Lancashire, a towering Andrew Flintoff stormed into the dressing room, ashen-faced, having failed to end a lean trot. Murali sauntered over casually. "What happened - another **** shot?"

Legend. Total legend.

Well, Mahela took the catch (fittingly) and the rest of the fielders had a bit of a headstart on smothering Murali before he could get up.
